The project involved the modernization of the main auditorium at the Arab Open University (AOU) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Data Core Solutions was assigned to lead a complete technological transformation by upgrading the existing auditorium infrastructure with advanced audio and video interactive systems. The scope included the deployment of a large-format display, professional audio solutions, intelligent control systems, and integrated automation technologies. The objective was to create a modern, innovative, and fully automated auditorium environment that supports multiple use cases, enables seamless presentations and interactions, and delivers an enhanced audio-visual experience for all audiences.

Problem Statement

Modernize the existing classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditorium at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU) by replacing traditional audio-visual systems with smart, interactive, and unified communication–ready solutions. The objective was to enhance interaction between students and faculty, enable centralized control and digital content delivery, and create a scalable, future-ready learning environment across the campus.

CHALLENGES

Before deploying the new systems, several operational and technical challenges had to be addressed. Wireless microphone frequencies had to be carefully assigned and managed across more than 65 classrooms and 3 meeting rooms within a two-story building. The digital signage system needed to be integrated into the existing network infrastructure while enabling remote content publishing and access. Power and network infrastructure for advanced AV solutions had to be deployed within an existing building without impacting interior design or daily academic activities. Additionally, all materials had to be procured and installed within a short timeframe before the university reopened, while ensuring the overall solution remained scalable for future expansion.
