Smart Classrooms for PSAU Campus

Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU), formerly known as Prince Salman Bin Abdulaziz University, is a public Saudi university located in Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education. PSAU plays a vital role in supporting the Kingdoms educational vision by empowering students with science, knowledge, and advanced technology. To strengthen its academic ecosystem, PSAU partnered with Datacore Solutions and Arabian Computer Supplies Co. (ARCOM) to modernize its IT infrastructure and deploy advanced Audio-Visual solutions across classrooms, meeting spaces, and auditoriums.

PSAU aimed to enhance classrooms, meeting rooms, and learning spaces particularly within the Female Educational and Female Medical Sciences buildings by enabling simplified, ergonomic, and highly interactive teaching environments. Datacore and ARCOM led a complete technological transformation by deploying advanced, internet-based smart classroom solutions, immersive auditorium audio-visual systems with recording and video conferencing capabilities, and a campus-wide digital signage platform supporting Arabic content.

Problem Statement

To transform traditional classrooms and auditoriums into smart, interactive learning environments by deploying advanced Audio-Visual, Unified Communication, and digital collaboration solutions without disrupting existing infrastructure or academic operations.


Challenges

Implementing wireless microphone solutions across more than 65 classrooms and 3 meeting rooms within a two-story building required careful wireless frequency planning to ensure long-term scalability and zero interference.

Integrating a centralized digital signage system within the existing university network while enabling content delivery “anywhere, anytime” posed additional complexity.

Since the project involved an existing building, deploying new power and network infrastructure required civil work and conduit fixing without affecting interior colors, finishes, or materials.

Additionally, the availability of materials within a short timeline—prior to the university’s reopening—was a critical challenge.

 

Solution Provided

Datacore and ARCOM delivered a future-ready Audio-Visual transformation to enhance learning efficiency and collaboration across PSAU. Smart classrooms and meeting rooms were equipped with interactive displays, customized OPS PCs, wireless presentation tools, and high-quality microphones to enable seamless engagement. The auditorium was upgraded with a fine pixel pitch LED video wall, advanced audio processing, Dante-based microphones and speakers, video conferencing, and recording and playback systems, all managed through a customized, intuitive UI-based control platform. A centralized digital signage solution was also deployed across lobby areas, fully integrated with the existing system and supporting Arabic language content.
